Sean Costello’s newest release is We Can Get Together. I’ve been meaning to get around to completing a review for this CD for a couple of weeks now. It was next on my list. Those of you who write reviews know what I mean. You always have a "next one on the list" or "one I’m working on."
Sadly, Sean will never read my next review because he passed away on 4/15/08, one day shy of his 29th birthday. I received this devastating news via a press release distributed by Delta Groove records, his latest record label. Please don’t be misled, I never met Sean Costello, but I do send my reviews to the particular artist, their record label and their publicists. I do hear back from many of them. Mr. Costello was to be next.
The CD is just great. I’ve listened to it dozens of times. Nine of the eleven tracks are original. Asking me to pick out my favorite would be like asking me to pick my favorite blues artists. It changes everyday.
“Going Home” may be the song that brings it all together for all of us that have been hit hard by this way too early death.
“I’m going home to live with God.”
Looking at the tributes and the number of plays on his MySpace page, it looks like Sean Costello had a loyal legion of fans.
Don’t buy this CD because it’s Sean Costello’s last release. Buy it because it is very good.
I only regret that I never got to see him in person. I was too busy making plans.
A foundation has been established in his name. It is...
Sean Costello Foundation for Bi-Polar Research
